Green development, ecological conservation and healthy lifestyle are the main theme of global development. As the internationally recognized dominate strategy of agricultural pest control, biological control is playing an increasingly important role. The overall development of the "Belt&Road" Initiative further promotes the global exchange and cooperation on agricultural production,as well as the technology cooperation on agricultural biological control. As the important support of green agricultural development, the R&D and popularization of biological control products and technology can ensure the food security and protect the ecological environment.Induced by the worldwide growing emphasis on biological control, there is a mounting demand of translating books of biological control.Integrated Pest Management(Concepts,Tactics,Strategies and Case Studies),published by Cambridge University Press, covers a broad and comprehensive range of topics in Integrated Pest Management, focusing primarily on theory and concepts. Therefore, the translator chose Chapters 9 and 10 of this book as her translation practice.Since the source text belongs to English for Science and technology(EST),the translator encounters such challenges as handling technical terms, nominalization as well as long and difficult sentences while translating. In this report, she reveals these obstacles and endeavors to find feasible and optimal translation methods to solve these translation difficulties.Main efforts have been made to give a detailed analysis on how to solve these difficulties from the perspectives of lexicon, syntax and discourse.Additionally, some insights into the role and competence of the translator are shared for reference.
