Together with the development of global economic integration and gradually enhanced exchanges between countries,China's comprehensive national power has grown along.The country's exchanges and cooperation with other nations became more frequent in comparison with the past.People from all over the world begin to learn Chinese which ushered in a golden era of teaching Chinese to foreigners.In modem society,where 4G's network technology is constantly moving forward,we witnessed the birth of a series of new media applications related to socializing,our lives and study,such as WeChat,Alipay,Taobao,cloud computing,etc.Among them.Chinese characters applications are the products of a new generation that represent a new emerging teaching model which can be characterized as a combination of teaching Chinese to foreigners with the Internet.Therefore,this thesis focuses on the research of a new teaching model of teaching Chinese characters to the speakers of other languages with the usage of a mobile phone application.This thesis includes an analysis of all contemporary Chinese' characters applications,as well as,suggestions for their usage in the class.Due to the fact that these applications have not become popular teaching tools,the author of this thesis hopes that one day this newly emerging teaching source will play a big part in teaching Chinese characters.Simultaneously,the author's intention is also to provide some help for further research and,as a result enrich resources available for teaching characters,rise the quality of teaching Chinese in general,and contribute to the development and promoting of emerging Chinese teaching model to foreigners.
