Report On E-C Translation About Autonomous Driving Papers

Autonomous driving is the inevitable direction for the future development of vehicles.The researches on autonomous driving have been progressing rapidly in recent years.In particular,some events held both at home and abroad have promoted the rapid development of practicality and intelligence of driverless vehicles.However,China has started the development of autonomous vehicles relatively late,and there are quite less related reference materials at home.In order to make the domestic relevant researchers know the leading international research achievements in time,it is particularly important to translate autonomous driving papers.For this reason,the author chooses two autonomous driving papers as the source texts.At present,few people have ever translated autonomous driving papers.Therefore,this translation report is of certain academic and practical value.Under the guidance of Newmark's text type theory,the report studies and explores the E-C translation of two English papers about autonomous driving.It consists of four chapters apart from the introduction and conclusion.Chapter One is the task description which describes the introduction and features of the source text as well as the task background and significance.Chapter Two is the translation process description,including preparations before translation,translation process and quality control.Chapter Three is the case analysis which,being the most important part of the whole translation report,mainly discusses the strategies and methods for E-C translation of autonomous driving papers from lexical level,syntactic level and discourse level based on text type theory.Chapter Four summarizes the experience and lessons of the translation,and unsolved problems of the entire project are pointed out too.By analysis of Chinese translation of specific examples in this translation practice,it is hoped that the study can further improve the Chinese translation quality of autonomous driving papers,so that the relevant domestic researchers can grasp the latest development trend about the research on autonomous driving timely and accurately.
