Along with the continuous enhancement of China's international status and the deepening of "Going Out" Strategy of Culture,China-specific political expressions have attracted increasing attention from foreign countries.Therefore,it is of practical significance to accurately translate China-specific political expressions and enable foreign readers to understand them.The abstracts of papers containing China-specific political expressions are highly professional and contain a large number of political terms,professional nouns and long difficult sentences.However,the reference to parallel texts helps the translator solve these problems to a great extent and enables her to have a deeper understanding of the original text,thus improving the quality of the translation.This report is a case study of thwith Chinese Characteristics.It gives an introduction to the translation task and an analysis e C-E translation of 45 abstracts of political papers of the difficulties encountered in translating abstracts of political papers with Chinese Characteristics.The whole report consists of four main parts,the introduction,description of the translation process,case analysis and conclusion.Firstly,the author of the report describes the translation task,including introduction of the translation task,characteristics of the source texts and the significance of the translation.Then,she introduces her preparations and the translation process,including searching terms,understanding backgrounds,translation steps,problems encountered while translating,and proofreading.The next part is the case analysis.In this part,the author probes into the application of parallel texts in the C-E translation of abstracts of political papers with Chinese characteristics,hoping to provide reference for the translation of abstracts of political papers with Chinese characteristics.The last part is the conclusion,in which the author summarizes the achievements and shortcomings in this translation practice,in the hope of that this paper can be used as a reference for her future translation of similar texts.
