According to the spirit and requirements of "Compendium of Curriculum Reform of Fundamental Education" and "National English Curriculum Standards for general High School",the thesis is based on the theories of English teaching.Taking MT middle school in Nan tong city as object of study,the author studied the English classroom management in senior high school,analyzing the main problems and putting forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.High school English classroom management refers to the process that English teachers combine the characteristics of English and follow certain rules,coordinate and control various teaching factors in the English classroom to create a pleasant and comfortable learning environment and stimulate students' learning enthusiasm,and ultimately guarantee English classroom teaching progresses smoothly,and effectively realize the teaching goal,and improve the teaching quality,and promote students overall development.Effective teaching refers to the teaching in which teachers follow the objective rules of teaching and take students' development as the basis.Meanwhile,teachers get the best teaching effect with limited investment in time,energy and material,achieving teaching objectives,improving their teaching quality and meeting the demands for teaching value of society and individuals.Through questionnaire and interview survey on current situation of English classroom management in MT middle school,the following problems are found in the management of English classroom in high school.First,the goal of classroom teaching is one-sided and unitary.Second,the classroom regulations are not perfect and the management is not standard.Third,teachers' application of teaching strategies is not in place and teachers lack initiative reflection.Four,teachers and students lack interaction and teachers lack good communication skills.Five,students are not capable of being highly involved in classroom teaching and active learning.According to the research results,this thesis puts forward some strategies of high school English classroom management to promote effective teaching.Firstly,teachers should optimize the target management of high school English classes.They ought to adhere to humanistic education values,strengthen the awareness of interdisciplinary teaching,and establish a harmonious and unified classroom teaching objectives.Secondly,teachers are supposed to establish a classroom management system with English characteristics.They should establish a democratic system of teachers and students,a flexible cultural system and a distinctive English feature.Thirdly,teachers are expected to improve their classroom management skills.They need to keep pace with the times,update classroom management concepts,establish a good relationship between teachers and students,and improve teachers' classroom management skills.Last but not the least,teachers are also required to guide students to learn independently and realize their self-regulation.It is necessary to cultivate students' consciousness of self-management,stimulate students' learning motivation and guide students to realize independent learning.
