From the perspective of gender roles and gender stereotypes, this study studies college students'preference for vocational interests, and combines research conclusions,we provide counseling suggestions for college students'vocational interests, guiding college students to clearly recognize themselves and choose a career that suits them. The study is divided into three steps:First, through questionnaire survey, the characteristics of gender roles and gender stereotypes of college students are collected, and the distribution of gender roles and gender stereotypes are investigated.Secondly, through Holland Vocational Preference Inventory,we analyze the influence of gender roles and gender stereotypes on the choice of occupational types.Thirdly, based on the conclusions and combined with previous studies, this study proposes counseling suggestions for college students'vocational interests.Through research,we find that:(1)the distribution of contemporary college students in the four gender role types is as follows:the proportion of dual gender group is the highest, and is much higher than the proportion of the other three types, followed by feminine group, undifferentiated group,Masculine. In the gender identity of dual gender group, the proportion of male sexes in male subjects was higher than that in female subjects, but the difference was not significant;in the female gender identity group, the female gender identity of female subjects was occupied. The proportion was higher than that of the male subjects, and the difference was significant;in the undifferentiated gender identity group, the proportion of undifferentiated gender identity of female subjects was higher than that of male subjects, but the difference was not significant;for the masculine gender identity group, the proportion of male gender differences in male subjects and female subjects was similar, and the difference was not significant.(2)There is indeed a gender stereotype in the college student.Regardless of the gender, people showed stereotypes about men and women. At the same time, although it has not reached a significant level, people have different stereotypes about gender stereotypes of same-sex and opposite sex.Compared with the opposite sex, people's gender stereotypes of same-sex are more rigid.(3)There are gender differences in college students'vocational interests. For men,the top three occupational types are social, academic, and regular, while women,in addition to social and regular occupations, tend to choose an art career.(4)Compared with gender, gender roles are more predictive of college students'vocational interests. The level of masculinity of the subjects can predict the choice of actual, scholarly, and entrepreneurial occupations. The score of feminine level can predict the preference of social and regular occupations.(5)Gender stereotypes only have an impact on social and regular vocational interests. The lower the stereotype of the male impression, the higher the social occupational score, that is,the lower the stereotype of the male impression, the more likely the individual to choose a social occupation;the higher the stereotype of the female impression, the higher the regular occupational score, that is,the more stereotyped the female impression is,the more likely it is to choose a regular occupation.
