This is a translation project report on the first seven Chapters of EDF Energy Nuclear Generation:Our Journey towards Zero Harm, released by EDF Energy, with its focus on the nuclear power plant security policy, risk analysis, nuclear pollution control and the operation of the nuclear management system.EDF energy is a branch of EDF Group.France and the UK have a relatively large proportion of nuclear energy, and their nuclear industry technology leads the world. Therefore,to accurately deliver the meaning of the source text in this field is a very crucial step for Chinese readers to learn from their experience.Based on the lexical, syntactical and textual features of the source text, the translator introduces the Text Analysis Model proposed by Christian Nord to analyze intratextual factors and extratextual factors of the source text.Splitting, restructuring, conversion and some other translation methods are used to deal with the difficulties in terminologies, nominalizations, long and complicated sentences, passives sentences and imperative sentences during translation process. At last, the translator concludes the gains and limitations of the project. The author hopes that this report can provide a way of thinking and guidance for further scientific text translation study.
