Student participation refers to the situation in which how students play effectively as the main role in education and teaching,a role in such aspects as behavior, cognition and emotion involvement.Higher students' participation can help make the students' learning styles change from a passive mode to an active one, which greatly improve their attention and learning efficiency.Since student participation is an important independent variable affecting learning effect, the topic is drawing more and more people's interest. However,it has not been given enough attention to as the ultimate goal of research in the field of pedagogy is still focused on teaching results, which is the inherent requirement of the goal-oriented education. Therefore, the study of student participation is seldom regarded as a variable in the study, not to say the study of student participation.Attribution is a response model established by human beings in order to understand and control the environment, improve efficiency and respond to the external world. Its purpose is to understand various phenomena and predict their future development direction.Because of the limitation of human's own cognition and thinking mode, the attributive behavior has attributive bias, which will affect the scientific nature of their decisions.Since the 1990s,attribution theory has been widely applied to foreign language teaching. However, the topic of English learning participation mainly focuses on College students. There is still a certain gap in the attribution research of high school students learning participation. If an accurate and effective attribution evaluation model can be established,it will help teachers to understand students' attribution tendency, analyze the subjective causes of their learning behavior, predict the development process and direction of their learning behavior, and take effective measures to adjust students'participation in the process of English teaching so as to improve students' English learning level. This thesis focuses on the attribution of students' English learning participation in senior high school English class, examines its current situation, analyzes its existing problems, and finds out the concrete measures to solve the problems, aiming at improving the level of students' English learning participation in senior high school English class. The subjects of this study are two ordinary classes selected from the freshmen of Wujiashan High School in Wuhan. There are 22 boys and 28 girls in the class. The selection process did not make any special requirements for gender, academic performance, family environment, class group, physical and psychological quality. The field investigation finds that students' participation in English learning is unsatisfactory in senior high school English classroom teaching. There are two main factors contributing to this situation:subjective and objective factors. The subjective factor is that students' interest in active learning is not enough, while the objective factor is that teachers and families have little influence on students and lack of help and support.Teachers' factors mainly show that there is still room for improvement in teachers'teaching methods.Teachers' evaluation and feedback to students also have an important impact on the allocation and input of students' choice of subject time.Family factors are mainly manifested in the influence of family atmosphere on students' English learning.Whether parents attach importance to students' English learning, whether they can actively participate in their children's English learning process, and whether they can consciously cultivate students' English learning habits will have a very significant impact on their children's English learning.
