In the Qing Dynasty, the idea of "ruling by the custom" was followed, and the ethnic minority areas in Xiangxi were divided and ruled, and they were divided into "Miaojiang" and "Tusi District" to be governed. The implementation of the education and the implementation of the civil service examinations are important measures for the Qing government to strengthen the governance of the western Hunan region. In particular, after the reform of the land, the Qing government in order to further strengthen its jurisdiction over the Xiangxi region, vigorously promote education in the western Hunan region, set up official school,Jianyi school, and run a college, which provided conditions for the Qing government to implement the imperial examination in the western Hunan region. After research,it was found that the examinations of the imperial examinations in the western part of Hunan Province changed not only greatly before and after the reform of the soil, but also the "Xiangxi Miaojiang" and "Tusi District" also showed great differences. Before the reform of the land, the development of Miaojiang culture in Xiangxi was slow, and the number of Miao people taking the imperial examination was extremely small. With the opening up of Miaojiang, the Qing government has set up a “new child” quota in the Xiangxi area.In the township test,it also edited the preferential policies such as “Bianzihao” and “Tianzihao”,giving the candidates a generous fee and promoting the Xiangxi Miaojiang. In the examination, the number of children's tests and township trials increased. At the same time, the issue of the imperial examinations of the imperial examinations in Xiangxi Miaojiang has become increasingly fierce, and local officials have conducted strict investigations to maintain the order of the Miaojiang Imperial Examination. After the reform of the land, the Qing government changed the "Tusi District" to Yongshun House, abolished the ban on cultural development, vigorously promoted Confucian culture, and encouraged the local people to participate in the imperial examinations. The number of people in the township test has increased. However,as Yongshun House gradually opened up and population mobility gradually increased,Yongshun House also had the problem of “official imperial examination”.It is precisely because the Qing government gave preferential policies in the civil examinations in the western Hunan region, which led to the further serious problem of the “counterfeiting problem” in the civil examinations in the western Hunan region. The imperial examinations promoted by the Qing Dynasty in the western Hunan region played an important role in spreading Confucian culture, rebuilding social order, and strengthening the national identity of the people in Xiangxi. On the other hand, the phenomenon of imperial examinations in the imperial examinations has also aggravated the conflict between the locals in the western Hunan region and affected the speed of cultural and educational development in the western Hunan region. This article intends to promote the role of the imperial examinations in the process of national integration in the Qing Dynasty by pursuing the study of the imperial examinations in the Qing Dynasty and to expand the field of historical research in Xiangxi.
