Recently,with the increase of the number of Chinese learners around the world,the demand for Volunteer Chinese Teachers is also increasing.The study on overseas internship situation and effect of Volunteer Chinese teacher will promote the development of Chinese language international education and improve the effect of the overseas volunteers.The survey adopt questionnaire,semi-structured interview,case analysis and other methods.It can be divided into seven parts:The first part explains the background,significance,research content,methods and innovation of this study,and summarizes the previous research achievements.The second part introduces the current situation of Chinese teaching in Victoria,lists some influential chinese-related projects supported by the government of Victoria and hanban,and focuses on the Assistant To Teachers Of Chinese project which is involved in this study.The third part describes the design and implementation of the questionnaire and semi-structured interview used in this investigation.The fourth part is the investigation and analysis of the overseas internship situation of the volunteers in Victoria,including the personal information of the volunteers,the situation of the volunteers in the school,and the overseas life of the volunteers.The fifth part is the investigation and analysis of the overseas internship effect of the volunteers in Victoria,including three aspects:the teaching ability of the volunteers,the basic work ability of the volunteers and the intercultural communication ability of the volunteers.The sixth part is the author's thoughts and suggestions on the common problems in the process of volunteer internship in Victoria.The seventh part is the author's summary of the research results and reflection on the research deficiencies.During the overseas internship,most of them were in government schools,and their teaching object is mainly local primary and secondary school students while the teaching language is mainly English.Some assistants can teaching by themselves in the local school while some cannot attend classes at all.The research shows that the internship effect of the Victoria ta in basic work ability is the best,followed by the internship effect in cross-cultural communication,and the internship effect in classroom teaching is the worst.
