With the rise of China,China's cultural status in the world is also rising,more and more foreigners want to learn about China's traditional culture.In the process of cultural communication,traditional Chinese opera stands out with its unique charm.The external communication of Chinese opera culture is an important part of China's cultural development to the world,and it is also a witness of China's rising soft power.The translation materials of this practice report are selected from Peking Opera and Qinqiang Opera in chapter 8 of the History of Chinese Opera.The purpose of this report is to explore the translation skills of Peking Opera and Qinqiang Opera,as well as the translation methods of cultural-loaded words.The report selects culture-loaded words encountered in the process of translation and classifies them into language culture-loaded words,material culture-loaded words,ecological culture-loaded words,social culture-loaded words and religious culture-loaded words.The main difficulty in the translation of culture-loaded words in drama is the lack of semantic meaning.By referring to the corresponding cultural background knowledge,the translator can ensure the acceptability of the translation on the basis of retaining the cultural characteristic.Taking the characteristics of ethnic groups and language styles into account,the translation should preserve the exoticism and pay attention to the cultural psychology of the readers.In the translation process,the translation methods of annotation,explain,transliteration,literal translation were adopted under the guidance of the strategy of “alienation”.Through this practice,the translator has deeply felt that the translation of different culture-loaded words should be treated in specific ways.According to the characteristics of different words,the methods of annotation,transliteration,interpretation and literal translation are selected.
