Line is the simplest and most direct element of artistic expression.Each line represents a different emotional tone and plays an important role as a basic element in the visual communication design of packaging.In the contemporary society,the use of lines in product packaging pursues single structure and insufficient meaning expression,which results in insufficient product information transmission.In view of this problem,this paper uses literature research method,case analysis method and practice method to explore the connotation expression and application of line in packaging.This paper focuses on the application of line in packaging design.First of all,the paper describes the related concepts of line and packaging,explores deeply the form characteristics of line,and analyzes the relationship between line and packaging.Secondly,the paper discusses the visual language of the line in the package plane figure and the package stereo structure,starting from the form and constitution rule of the line,excavates the expression way and emotion expression of the line in the package design.Then,the paper analyzes the influence of line on packaging design.By studying the application cases of line in packaging design,the deficiencies of line application in design are analyzed,and the design strategies and methods in this paper are put forward on the basis of corresponding design theories.Finally,the design strategy of line is applied in the design practice of packaging to create a packaging design with interesting feelings,so as to deeply understand the connotation expression of the line in packaging.The lines discussed in this paper are not only limited to the two-dimensional plane of the package,but also deeply studied the application mode and characteristics of the lines in the three-dimensional structure,so that the lines can be more fully reflected in the form,aesthetic and functional levels of the package design,thus the image sense of product packaging can be enhanced.
