Cohesive Devices In English Academic Texts And Their Chinese Equivalents

Academic texts feature rigorousness,coherence and sound logic,which wouldn’t be possible without the rich use of cohesive mechanisms.In view of this,this paper aims at analyzing how functional equivalence between the source text and the translated text is achieved by skillfully handling the cohesive devices involved.Examples from Health Insurance Reforms in Asia(Chapters 7~8)are cited to facilitate the study.And hopefully this study will turn out to be conducive to the improvement of translation quality.
