The text chosen in this translation practice is a well-known academic writing called Translation Changes Everything: Theory and Practice. In this book, the writer Lawrence Venuti explores the translation theories, thoughts and necessary abilities of translators, expresses thoughts about translation in various aspects, and expounds his translation theories in an all-round way. This translation practice is based on Chapter III of the book Translation Changes Everything: Theory and Practice, entitled Translating Derrida on Translation:Relevance and Disciplinary Resistance. The book is a collection of theses.According to Peter Newmark's text typology, this book is an informative text.More specifically, the expressions in this book are accurate and concise. Moreover, its sentences are varied and specialized. In addition, the functional equivalence theory is used to guide this translation practice. As for translation strategy, communicative translation and semantic translation are combined in this translation practice to achieve functional equivalence in lexical, syntactic, textual and cultural aspects and ensure the translation's fidelity and accuracy.Through this translation practice, the translator's translation ability and translation knowledge have been further improved.Furthermore, comprehension of Venuti's books has been deepened in this translation practice. Moreover, the translator realizes the inadequacy of capability in translation. All in all,it has laid a solid foundation for the future translation practices.
