Middle School Students' Security Affects Their Loneliness

With the development of society,the government pays more and more attention to mental health education in primary and secondary schools.Studies have shown that middle school students experience more loneliness than students at other stages.Loneliness,as a negative emotional experience,represents the gap between the expected interpersonal communication and the actual interpersonal communication.Many researchers have found that individuals who suffer from severe loneliness for a long time are likely to suffer from certain emotional disorders and affect social adaptability.Therefore,the research on loneliness and its influencing factors of middle school students plays an important role in reducing loneliness and improving mental health.By reviewing the literature on loneliness,the author finds that security,self-esteem and loneliness are significant correlation.Therefore,this study took middle school students in four cities,Nanchong city,Langzhong city,Guang 'an city and Chengdu city,sichuan province as research objects,and conducted sampling from grade one to grade three by stratified random cluster sampling.Four classes were randomly selected from each grade,and 600 questionnaires were distributed.The assessment tools were assessed using the Loneliness Scale(UCLA),Security Questionnaire(SQ)and self-esteem Scale(SES)to explore the intermediary effect of self-esteem on feelings of Security and Loneliness,and to explain the internal mechanism of feeling of Security and Loneliness.The following results are obtained:(1)At present,loneliness is prevalent among middle school students,with77.8% of them experiencing loneliness at or above the middle level.The level of self-esteem and sense of security of middle school students are generally in the mid and upper level.(2)There was no significant difference in loneliness no difference in gender,place of origin,only-child status,divorce status and parents' cultural level.There are significant differences in whether or not students live in school,grade,parenting style and family relationship.(3)There is no significant difference in the sense of security in gender,place of origin,whether they live in school or not,divorce status,grade,and their parents' cultural level,but there is significant difference in their parents' parenting style and family member relationship.(4)There is no significant difference in the self-esteem of middle school students in places of origin,whether they live in school or not,whether their parents are divorced or not,and their mothers' cultural level.There is significantly different in gender,grade,parenting style and family member relationship.The difference of middle school students' self-esteem in their father's education is close to significant.(5)There was a significant correlation between the sense of security,self-esteem and loneliness of middle school students.Among them,there was a significant negative correlation between security and loneliness,a significant negative correlation between self-esteem and loneliness,and a significant positive correlation between security and self-esteem.(6)The sense of security and self-esteem of middle school students have significant predictive effect on loneliness.Among them,the sense of security was a significant negative predictor of loneliness,and self-esteem was a significant negative predictors of loneliness.(7)The self-esteem plays a partial mediating role in the effect of the sense of security on loneliness of middle school students,and the mediating role is significant.
