A Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of "The Development And Validation Of A Vehicle Simulator For The Introduction Of Worldwide Harmonized Test Protocol In The European Light Duty Vehicle CO₂ Certification Process"

With the increasingly contradictions in environmental development,energy conservation,emission reduction,optimization,and transformation of energy structure have become the focus of global attention.In the face of increasingly stringent emission regulations,domestic research on motor vehicle emissions testing is not deep enough and comprehensive.The number of Chinese-translated scientific and technical texts that can be referred to emission testing is limited,the publications failed to be updated,and they can not meet the requirements of the rapid development of emission standards testing.The author of the article,G.Fontaras,as one of the developers of CO₂MPAS,elaborated on the countermeasures adopted by the EU during the transition period of the emission test standard from 2017 to 2020,the detailed test procedure for the development and verification of CO₂ MPAS,and the designed model.The simulated test in the selected text can promote and guide the implementation of the new emission policy in China,which shows very strong practical significance.This translation practice report is divided into four chapters,the introduction of Chinese translation projects,pre-translation preparation and analysis,translation case analysis,and problems and deficiencies found in the process of trabnslation.After repeated analysis of the textual features of the source text,the practical experience in the translating process is summarized with the guidance of Nida's Functional Equivalent Theory.The current report elaborates on the translation methods in terms of vocabulary and sentence.The vocabulary part includes equivalent processing of abbreviations,concrete translation of abstract words,and free translation of technological terminologies.The sentence part includes supplementary translation of parallel components,word order adjustment to translate long compound sentence,and transforming voice to translate voice.Through the analysis and summary of vocabulary and sentence translation the report presents,seek the skills and strategies of scientific text translation in related fields.Through the analysis and summary of the case study,reference for future translation practice is provided and the translation work in related fields is promoted.
