The Application Of Shadowing Training In Elementary Comprehensive Chinese Lesson

Shadowing Training emerged in the 1970's,the characteristic of this teaching method is “reading while listening”.Unlike traditional teaching methods,Shadowing Training is an activity that listening,remembering and reading happen simultaneously,which can help trainers to improve their listening and speaking abilities.Comprehensive lesson emphasizes the synchronous development of four language skills,including listening,speaking,reading and writing skills.According to the site observations,the listening and speaking abilities of elementary Chinese learners are hard to get an effective improvement in the Comprehensive Chinese in Thailand.Shadowing Training has been widely used in teaching English and Japanese as a second language,the predecessor research results prove that this teaching method has a significant effect on improving listing and speaking abilities of foreign languages,while this method is seldom put into the practice of teaching Chinese as a second language.For improve the students' listening and speaking abilities of Laohajit Wittaya School effectively,We apply Shadowing Training into the elementary Comprehensive Chinese class.For testing the teaching effects of Shadowing Training,we set experimental group and control group,and using a comparative teaching in the class of the second grade of Laohajit Wittaya School.We apply Shadowing Training in the experimental group and the traditional teaching method in the control group.The test results shows that Shadowing Training can improve listening and speaking abilities of learners.The experimental group accepted the questionnaire,which shows this group thinks that Shadowing Training can can improve their pronunciation and intonation,help them to focus attention in class.Chinese teachers who observe the class feedback that Shadowing Training can get better and more sufficient practice,it can make up the short of practice,improving the listening and speaking levels of trainers.
