A Study On Cross-cultural Adaptation Of Volunteer Chinese Teacher In Thailand

According to the latest statistics of Hanban's official website,as of January 2019,there were 16 Confucius Institutes in Thailand,20 Confucius Classrooms,and more than 17,000 Chinese teacher volunteers in more than 1,000 large and medium-sized schools in 73 provinces in Thailand.Teaching in primary schools,the number of Chinese students has grown rapidly to more than 1 million.Every year,Hanban of China sends more than 1,000 volunteers to Thailand.The demand for Thai Chinese teacher volunteers is the highest in the world.Chinese teacher volunteers are not only the professors of Chinese knowledge,but also the messengers of Chinese cultural communication and the bridge of friendship between the Chinese and Thai peoples.The cross-cultural adaptation of the large number of volunteer teachers in Thailand and the cross-cultural issues they have encountered have greatly affected their lives and work in Thailand.The author was fortunate enough to pass the Chinese Hanban volunteer teacher selection test and went to Thailand as a Chinese teacher volunteer from June 2017 to March 2019.During the two years in Thailand,have mastered certain research conditions and research resources with the personal experience and surrounding resources.This article takes the Chinese teacher volunteers from 2017 to 2019 as the research object,randomly selected 153 volunteer teachers,mainly through questionnaires,from life adaptation,work adaptation,psychological adaptation,communication adaptation,social and cultural adaptation and social support.Investigate the cross-cultural adaptation of volunteer teachers and the cross-cultural adaptation problems encountered.From the four vertical time dimensions of going to Thailand,going to Thailand,going to Thailand,and going to Thailand,and combining the five horizontal aspects of life,work,psychology,interpersonal communication,and social culture,I want to go to Thailand,go to Thailand,have gone Thai Chinese teacher volunteers provide specific feasible,practical and meticulous suggestions.I hope to improve the cross-cultural adaptability of Thai Chinese teacher volunteers,reduce cultural conflicts,help them adapt to work and life in Thailand faster and better,and hope that every teacher working in Thailand can successfully complete the task.Have fun,fully understand,actively adapt to foreign cultures,and enjoy life in Thailand.
