This paper is divided into two parts. The first part is the expression of the extended meaning of Chinese directional complement "qilai" in Indonesian, and the second part is the learning errors of Indonesian students. In the first, this paper collects a lot of examples about the extended meaning of the Chinese directional complement "qilai",and then makes a comparative analysis. After comparison and analysis,it is concluded that the extended meaning of "qilai" is the same as the affixes in Indonesian language in many cases. For example, the directional complement "qilai" expressing a result, and it can be translated into the affixes "me-","ber-" "kan" and "ter" in Indonesian language. The directional complement "qilai" also expressing the the beginning of new state and it can also be translated into the above affixes and "mulai" or "menjadi".The fact is the above affixes have a meaning of "becoming" to express the result, and also have a meaning of "acting or being in a certain state" to indicate the beginning of a new state.Secondly,in view of the acquisition errors of Indonesian students, this paper adopts two ways of investigation. The first is corpus analysis, the second is to design a test questionnaire based on the results of corpus analysis. The participants are divided into 10 teachers and 43 students.According to the analysis, there are 74 erroneous sentences in 594 sentences. The errors are mainly classified into four categories: misrepresentation/misselection,misaddition,omission and miselection. The highest error rate is misrepresentation/misselection and the main reasons for the errors are three: negative transfer of mother tongue, overgeneralization of target language and students' inadequate mastery of the extended meaning of Chinese directional complement "qilai".We hoped that the results of this study can provide reference for Indonesian Chinese teachers and help Indonesian Chinese learners to better grasp the extended meaning of Chinese compound trend complements.
