| China-US relations are the most important bilateral relations in the world,and studying US-related news is crucial to the development of China’s political economy and culture.In the internship at Huanjiu.com,the author finds that the current news contains many metaphor uses in American-related news,while the translation of metaphor is related to the accurate transmission of news information.Therefore,the author chooses to study the metaphor translation in American-related news.In this paper,the American-related news specifically refers to the news related to American politics,economy,culture,etc.in Huanjiu.com,which comprises political news,economic news,military news and some look news.These metaphors are used in a variety of ways,whose cultural background is profound,but how to accurately translate these metaphors becomes an important part of the translation process.This paper takes cultural linguistics as the theoretical basis and adopts qualitative research to make a tentative study on metaphor translation in American-related news in Huanjiu.com.It mainly solves the recognition and classification of metaphors,translation problems and translation skills in American-related news.First,this thesis effectively identifies metaphors according to Metaphor Pattern Analysis(MPA)proposed by Stefanowitsch.Second,in the light of metaphor image,six major categories of metaphors are classified according to the source domain,and then the characteristics are analyzed.Third,combined with specific translation practice cases,the problems encountered in metaphor translation are analyzed and summarized in American-related news.Finally,according to image,cultural conceptualization and cultural metaphor proposed by the cultural linguistics,this thesis provides specific skill guidance for metaphor translation,and hopes to offer effective method of metaphor translation to other translators and tries to broaden the horizon of metaphor translation research. |
