In this thesis,The primary Chinese students in the Confuc ius classroom of Chinese Language of the school at Kolkata in India were taken as the object of research.The performance course was designed for nearly 7 months,and the core teaching concept of "Ti Yan"(to experience)and "Yan Lian"(to rehearse or drill)of the pedagogy of performing another culture is adopted to carry out a bold and innovative practice of the Chinese culture teaching in India.This paper is divided into five parts:Introduction,including the reason and background of the research.The research significance and methods,and the application of the pedagogy of performing another culture in Chinese culture teaching is summarized;The second part mainly elaborates the teaching idea,teaching method and evaluation the pedagogy of performing another culture.The third part,from the perspective of global analysis of the present situation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in India,the transverse analyses the present situation of Chinese teaching in Kolkata.including introduce the situation of Confucius classroom of Chinese Language school.And from point to surface introduced Chinese school teachers,curriculum setting,teaching material,teaching method,teaching object and teaching environment etc;The fourth part is the core part of this paper.The author focuses on how to apply the pedagogy of performing another culture to the teaching of Chinese culture in the Confucius classroom at Kolkata.Firstly,the author at the early stages of the implementation of this method to classroom,the principals,colleague teachers and students was interviewed and surveyed by questionnaire,to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the pedagogy of performing another culture which was applied in Kolkata Confucius classroom,further to create the premise condition,including,peer teachers,students and parents of students to the principal performing culture courses design,are introduced through in the form of official document signed for multiparty supervise the implementation of culture teaching plan.After the implementation of the course for a period of time,the author specially invited sinology experts,principals and peers to observe and interview,and collected the evaluation and feedbacks on the pedagogy of performing another culture from multiple perspectives,multi-dimensions and multi-levels.At last,the author summarized the advantages and disadvantages of the method by synthesizing and sorting out the feedbacks and comments which were collected.Finally,the author put forward to his own ideas and suggestions on how to reasonably apply the method in India,and reflected on the shortcomings of research.
