As the second largest country in South America,Argentina is located in the south of South America and it is the country which the farthest one from China.In recent years,the exchanges and cooperation in politics,economy and culture between China and Argentina have increased,and the enthusiasm in learning Chinese of Argentines rise and rise.As the second Confucius Institute in Argentina,Since the Confucius Institute at La Plata National University established in the cooperation with the Xi'an International Studies University and the National University of La Plata.The Confucius Institute has made many contributions to the Chinese teaching and cultural promotion of Argentina and has achieved many results.However,there are still many problems in the Confucius Institute.The Confucius Institute at La Plata National University in Argentina still has a lot of room for development.First,this paper introduces the history of Chinese teaching in Argentina,which is the basic environment for the establishment and development of the Confucius Institute at La Plata National University in Argentina.With it established,the Chinese language teaching in Argentina has entered into a new stage of development,and the Chinese teaching and cultural promotion work has moved toward a more specialized and modeled road.The introduction of the current situation of the Confucius Institute will let more people to understand the reality of the Confucius Institute in terms of infrastructure and management,Chinese language teaching and cultural promotion.The focus of this paper is to further analyze the current situation of the Confucius Institute by means of questionnaires,interviews and classroom observations.The questionnaires are mainly aimed at Chinese teachers and learners of the Confucius Institute.The interviews are mainly directed at the directors and other managers of the Confucius Institute.The classroom observation is the author's personal experience.This paper will find out the advantages and characteristics of Confucius Institute from the analysis results and carry them forward.For example,the Chinese teachers of theConfucius Institute are highly professional,attach importance to the development of academic activities,and strive to serve the society.It will also further explore the current infrastructures of the Confucius Institute.With regard to management,Chinese teaching and cultural promotion,Chinese teaching is mainly about Chinese language curriculum,Chinese teachers,Chinese learners,Chinese textbooks and teaching resources,and Chinese proficiency test.Cultural promotion is mainly the setting and arrangement of cultural courses,the promotion and organization of cultural activities and the participation and achievements of cultural competitions.Based on the discovery and analysis of existing problems,this paper will also present reasonable thinking and suggestions and estimate the future development potential of the Confucius Institute.At present,there is almost no study literature towards the Confucius Institute at La Plata National University in Argentina.This paper will make up for this gap to a certain extent,and provide some materials for the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban,Confucius Institute staffs and scholars to refer to.
