The source text of this translation practice report is selected from translation result during the translator's internship in Online Translation Center of China Daily Website,which is mainly concerned with online news translation.Featured with high-speed transmissibility,great interactivity and wide audience,online news has been gaining ground over recent years.However,the dramatic shift from ‘traditional' to ‘online'news translation has remained largely invisible and understudied,and owing to its new contemporary characteristics,online news translation turns out to be more complicated and flexible compared to the other translation.Therefore,online news translation is a subject of growing significance within the discipline of translation studies.This report first describes the translation material so as to offer an overview of the text,and then briefly introduces the overall translation process.After that,the report concretely analyzes the difficulties and solutions in translation process.Given the complexity of material,this report takes Lefevere's Theory of Re-writing as the guiding theory.Next,it fleshes out a theoretical basis and uses specific cases to back up the theory.At the same time,the translator also elaborates the feelings and experiences in the translation process from transediting perspective.Lastly,the report makes a summary of the translation practice and implications so as to pave the way for future translation.This report has discussed the application of re-writing theory on online news translation,potentially providing a novel perspective in this field.It is also expected to give some reference value for other translators and researchers on news translation.
