This is a report on the interpreting task of “The Digital System Building Project of TAE Youth Tea Garden(YTG)”.It is a charity-based project executed by TAE Charitable Foundation and SAP team to jointly ideate a management system that will digitalize the daily operations of the YTG.The author serves as an interpreter in this project which consists of four processes: objectives setting,solutions finding,blueprinting and final report on deliverables.Under the guidance of Interpretive Theory put forward by Seleskovitch and Lederer etc.,the author adopts generalization,omission,transliteration & addition,reorganization,explicitation and free translation as major interpretation strategies to tackle different issues arising from the project.The success of the interpreting task and the completion of the system construction project are ensured via those approaches.The report is divided into five chapters: Chapter one covers the text of the source language and its interpretation;Chapter two gives a description of the task,which touches upon the source of the interpretation task,the requirements and expected results of it;in Chapter three the interpreting process is explained which includes the identification of interpreter,interpreting and emergency plans and the implementation of the interpreting task as well as the post-interpreting evaluation;Chapter four is about the case study in which the interpreting theory,problems in interpretation and tackling strategies for them are involved;the last chapter is the conclusion summarizing what the interpreter has learned and problems to be solved.Meanwhile,the enlightenment for future studies and work is also included in the chapter. |
