With the development of globalization, cooperation between countries has become increasingly close.Interpreting has gradually become familiar to the public as a communication tool to break down language barriers, and relevant theories are constantly improving. From September 18th to 20th,2018,the 12th Summer Davos Forum was held at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. The theme of the annual conference was "Building an Innovative Society in the Fourth Industrial Revolution".The author took Premier Li Keqiang’s speech at the opening ceremony of the 12th Summer Davos Forum as an example to conduct a consecutive interpreting simulation practice, and analyzed the interpretation relying on the German functional translation theory. In order to prepare for the interpreting, the author took the 201 8 government work report and answers to reporters’ requests as indirect parallel texts and practice texts,to grasp the language style of government documents, the latest China’s new policies and achievements,as well as vocabulary in politics and economy;the author took the keynote speech of Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum in 2018 and the keynote speech of Li Keqiang at the China-Indonesia Business Summit as indirect parallel texts,to learn style features and text structure of state heads’ Speech, and related background knowledge;the author took the opening speech of the Summer Davos Forum in 2017 and 2016 as direct parallel texts for interpreting practice. This report aims to apply translation theory to practice and explore applicable interpreting strategies. The German functional translation theory was formed in the 1970s and 1980s.Subverting the traditional theory,it is no longer limited by the original text, but considerate the function of translation and the non-linguistic factors in the translation process.Under the guidance of functional translation theory, the author summarized the five interpreting strategies of domestication, foreignization, additional interpreting, lessened interpreting and recombinational interpreting, and compared the author’s interpretation and official interpretation based on the theory and strategies.Through summary of the characteristics of formal political speeches,it will provide reference for future political and economic interpreting. For example, parallelism technique is often used in these speeches, involving some Chinese idioms, poems, etc.,and some strategies are necessary for interpreting. In addition, through analysis,it will find problems in the interpretation to provide a basis for personal progress. The main problems are insufficient vocabulary, the lack of psychological quality, and the lack of muscle training for interpreting strategies.Through the preparation, interpreting simulation process and analysis of the practice, the author believes that for interpreting study,we should focus on the accumulation of vocabulary and professional knowledge,in order to shorten the response time and improve accuracy;we should improve memory and shorthand ability to grasp the key information in a short period of time,so that we can accurately and completely convey them to the audience;besides, attention should be paid to the combination of theory and practice to achieve better results.
