Exhibition Interpreting Report Under The Guidance Of Effort Model

In recent years,the industry of Chinese exhibition has developed rapidly.With the rise of international communication,more and more exhibitions were held in China,drawing both internal and external attention.It thus calls for a great demand of interpreters majored in exhibition.Based on the interpretation practise for China International Medical Equipment Fair and China Sport Show,this report probs into how the theory of Effort Model guides the pre-interpretation preparation,effort allocation during the interpretation and assessment after the interpretation.In combination with the distinguishing feature of exhibition,the energy distribution in listening and analysis,note-taking,memory and production is mainly discussed,particularly the coordination in listening and production.The difficulties that encountered are also analyzed so as to find out appropriate solutions.This report finds that technical terms and complicated expressions bring challenges to the analysis and listening.Imbalanced effort arrangement will lead to information missing,information overflowing and Chinglish elements.Instructed by effort model,the author adopted the strategy of the omission,amplification and restructuring to make sure the production is accurate.It has the characteristics of effectiveness,timeliness and feasibility.Hopefully it will offer reference for the later training and practice.
