In the context of globalization, foreign exchanges are increasing, and diplomatic interpretation plays an increasingly important role in international exchanges.Compared with document translators, interpreters need to express the meaning accurately in a very short time.Compared with other types of interpretation, diplomatic interpretation is unique in content and language style, that is,political, sensitive and formal, which brings higher requirements for the interpreters. The culture-loaded words used by Chinese leaders in their speeches on diplomatic occasions are a major difficulty in diplomatic interpretation.Through case studies, this paper aims to explore the translation of culture-loaded words in diplomatic interpretation from the perspectives of domestication and foreignization. This paper consists of five parts:first, the research background and purpose;second, literature review;third, the theoretical framework, that is,domestication and alienation;fourth,culture-loaded words in the material and the translation strategies under the guidance of domestication and foreignization;fifth, conclusion and limitation of the thesis. |
