Research On The Aesthetic Characteristics And Innovative Development Of Song Typeface

This article chose one of the most famous typical Chinese fonts –Song,as the research topic.In order to make an objective conclusion of the relationship between the formation and development of Song Style,author started with this font's designing,with dynastic culture,historic politics and ancient technology as relevant elements.With the help of historic documents,author analyzed Song's font structure,changes during dynasties and aesthetic characteristics,so this information helped to support article's thesis about Song's innovative development.Article began with organizing the background of ancient Chinese typography and printing fonts' design,their basic concepts and features of different fonts.Based on this information,author pointed out Song was the key to connect typography and printing fonts,it also gave the glance of Song's analysis.In order to seek the factors which influences modern Song's creation design,article concluded historic elements that matters Song's formation by organizing reading materials of former societal culture and history.After this part,article analyzed the elements that effect creation of Song,based on the relationship between the change of style of Song and society background of different timeline.At this point,this paper trended to explain the construction of fonts,summarize the aesthetic characteristics of Song type characters from the five perspectives of structure,geometry,form,culture and artistic conception,and then which mainly about the common Song usage of mandarin culture,which spared in Japan,Hongkong,Taiwan and mainland China.Then article dig of Song's design and application from the actual social background plus human psychological and physiological characteristics.In the last,article summarized the development of Song font's advantage and disadvantages from analyzed through modern reading habits,preload medias and public reading preferences.Beyond this part,article also pointed out Song's developing trend of future possibility based on current artificial intelligence which widely prevalent these days.As a conclusion,Song font was a sign that demonstrated Chinese engraving printing technology developed progress.Song is one of the most important fonts in modern Chinese character system,it is also known as Chinese “Four Major PrintingFonts”,which includes Imitation Song,Hei and Kai.Song font's origin was back from Ming dynasty,and it was the first font that dedicated for printing during the history of development of Chinese characters.In order to keep pace with modern social aesthetics,technical development and reading necessary,as one of the most commonly used fonts that Song was also been constantly innovated and developed.Generally,China is lacking design and research of modern printing fonts,so it reveals that organizing and analyzing the historical development of Song fonts and interpretation of the aesthetic features of Song fonts are very important to generate the theory of Song's innovation,and it also provide reference that which can help to research other fonts.
