China has experienced a great transformation from the traditional age to the modern age at the beginning of the 20th century.In order to fight for their speaking rights,modern intellectuals carried out a fierce struggle against the powerful by publicizing their thoughts and conveying their feelings to the public on newspapers and periodicals.Even Lu Xun,who had always been an exception of the mainstream literature,chose different literary societies and journals as his battlefield,either as an important member who listened to the order of the editor during the period of New Youth,or as the leading role during the period of Yu Si.Whatever period it was,Lu Xun unceasingly looked for his comrades-in-arms and joined in different Literature societies,which undoubtedly had a great impact on his writing.This paper is divided into three parts,which aims to explore the influence of modern media on the formation of the style of Lu Xun's essay by sorting out the relationship between Lu Xun's essays and newspapers in different periods from the prospective of the changing publishing positions of Lu Xun's essay.The first part probes into the reason for the rise of modern media through the analysis of the rise of Modern Media and the relationship between the modern media and modern literature.In the second part,the author firstly explains the existing form of Lu Xun's essays by stages,thus putting forward a new viewpoint based on the geographical division,which divides Lu Xun's essays into three phases:Beijing,Xiamen,Guangzhou and Shanghai.On the basis of the stages,this paper analyzes the relationship between Lu Xun's essays and periodicals in different stages,and probes into the changes of Lu Xun's personal thoughts and positions when choosing varied newspapers and periodicals as his thought-conveying front.The third part probes into the relationship between the modern media and the formation of Lu Xun's particular essay writing style from the aspect of Lu Xun's making of essay as a new literary style.It introduces the short and historic traits of Lu Xun's essays as a result of the need of promptness of newspapers and analyzes the strongly-personalized features of the freedom and flexibility in Lu Xun's essays.
