A Report On The Translation Of Practice Of International Trade (Excerpts)

This report is a translation study of Practice of International Trade(Second edition in English)compiled by Professor Xie Guimei of Beijing Wuzi University.Based on China's perspective and viewpoint,the book covers main procedures and key links under the current international trade situation,including Trade Procedures,Contract Negotiation and Performance,Important Conditions of International Trade in Contracts,etc.It introduces the formal classification of international payment and international cargo transportation,systematically expounds marine cargo insurance and inspection which are common in international trade and briefly introduces each link of the import and export procedures,featuring remarkable characteristics of comprehensiveness,generality and vividness.In addition,this book gives a brief introduction to the main laws involved in trade protectionism which is a hot issue in international trade disputes with certain reference value.The report is mainly composed of the following four parts: The first part describes the translation tasks and introduces the background and the meaning of the translation project;The second part describes the translation process,including the preparation before the translation,the translation process and the post-translation review.Pre-translation preparation includes basic preparation,original analysis and theoretical guidance of translation.The third part presents case studies analyzing related translation from the three levels including vocabulary,syntax and text.The lexical level includes polysemy and the interpretation of trade terms,conversion,addition and deletion method for translation.The syntactic level includes separated and inverted method.The discourse level includes omission and analysis in profundity.The fourth part is the summary,which mainly includes relevant research results and existing problems of this translation,which presents some reasonable and suggestions timely.
