Research On Chinese-Yi Translation From The Perspective Of PACTE Translation Competence Model

After the establishment of New China,for the sake of the harmonious and unified development of the motherland,the Party and the State established the basic political systems of regional national autonomy in order to solve the ethnic problems.At the same time,the Party and the State fully respected and guaranteed the rights of ethnic minorities to use and develop their own languages and characters.Therefore,the exchange and mutual translation of minority languages and Chinese have become extremely important in the regional ethnic autonomous regions.In particular,on the road to poverty alleviation in a well-off society in China in 2020,as a bridge between Chinese and Yi Nationalities,the mutual translation has closely linked the development of Yi and Han regions.So far,satisfactory results have been achieved in the translation of Chinese and Yi.Whether it is the Yi translation of the Party's and the State's political papers,or the translation of the relevant literature and artistic works of the Chinese and Yi nationalities,as well as other Chinese and Yi translated works in the national language and writing studios,it has well promoted in publicizing the Party's basic lines,principles and policies in the Yi nationality areas,and has provided many relevant employment posts for the Yi nationality areas.It also promotes the ethnic-cultural exchanges and identification.However,due to the lack of relevant Chinese-Yi translation theories in current Chinese-Yi translation as support,plus some translators lack of relevant knowledge of translation between Chinese and Yi,or the lack of understanding of the social culture of both sides,some of the translated works are inaccurate in meaning translation,terminology translation,context understanding and improper lexical collocation and even omissions.These mentioned problems are not conducive to the better progress and development of Chinese-Yi translation,nor to the promotion of cultural exchanges between Chinese and Yi nationalities and the development of China's pluralistic and integrated culture.However,PACTE's model of translation competence can play an important role in guiding the practice of Chinese-Yi translation.Through its strategic translation ability,bilingual competence,extra-linguistic competence,instrumental ability,knowledge about translation competence and psycho-physiological competence,Those factors enable us to face up the problems existing in the mutual translation of Chinese-Yi,at the same time,solutions must be sought.In addition,the PACTE model of translation competence is a comprehensive and systematic theory in the current research on factors affecting translation competence,and its theoretical and practical significance will have an important impact on Chinese-Yi translation.Therefore,based on the theory of PACTE translation competence model,this paper studies the relevant problems in the process of Chinese-Yi translation through the sub-competence of PACTE translation competence model and seeks solutions,thus to promote the development of the Yi nationality areas of employment and to contribute the prosperity of the culture of diversity in unity in our country.
