As a foreign student from Mongolia,we found idioms are the historical and cultural symbols of a nation in Chinese learning and research.Therefore,we take the comparison of Chinese and Mongolian idioms as the research object.We choose animal,human and number idioms in Chinese and Mongolian,and compare them from two aspects: semantic features and cultural connotations.It is found that there are both similarities and differences between the literal meaning and the practical meaning,the metaphor and the metaphorical meaning of Chinese and Mongolian idioms.At the same time,the idioms also reflect the similarities and differences between China and Mongolia in ecological culture,religious belief culture,food culture and other aspects.Farming culture and nomadic culture give different nutrients to Chinese and Mongolian idioms.Through the analysis of the relevant literature and HSK dynamic corpus about Mongolian Students' acquisition of Chinese idioms,and through a large number of classroom observation,we found that due to the characteristics of semantic solidity and cultural implication of idioms,Mongolian students will have three main problems in the process of learning Chinese Idioms: understanding error,improper sentence structure,avoidance of use,etc.Due to cultural differences,Chinese idiom meaning understanding errors are mainly reflected in the improper use of the original meaning and emotional color meaning of the expected text;the improper use of Chinese idioms due to language ability,which is mainly reflected in the unclear sentence components that idioms should play in the sentence;the Chinese idioms use avoidance strategy due to lack of confidence,choose the most confident words to express make Mongolian students use less idioms in daily communication.We think that teachers,students,teaching materials and cultural differences are the main reasons for Mongolian students to misuse idioms.Therefore,first,we should help students understand the meaning of idioms through cultural introduction,and help students understand the cultural connotation of idioms correctly through cultural introduction;second,we should strengthen the use of idioms through intensive training,and strengthen the use of idioms through context and syntactic structure;third,we should improve the learning efficiency of idioms by optimizing the content,and make arrangements for the number,difficulty and order of idioms,follow the principle of step-by-step,increase the number of idioms appropriately,create more opportunities for students to use idioms,so as to enhance their confidence in using them.
