The core of the new urbanization is the people-centered urbanization,and the youth in the western ethnic areas are the main force in the construction of the new urbanization in the region in the future.Using three questionnaires,such as community sense,urban identity and orientation of students' academic goals,to test 4,712 middle school students in the western ethnic areas,to describe the basic situation of young people in the new urbanization,to examine the intermediary role of urban identity in community sense and academic goal orientation,and to explore the differences between the above three variables in demography and urbanization variables.In order to find out the theoretical path and optimal situation of adolescent social adaptation.The results showed that:1 The basic characteristics of youth in the new urbanization are "six-four phenomenon",which means that 60% of the youth are local urbanization,low mobility level and long-term living in the city,and 40% of the youth are off-site urbanization,high mobility level and short-term living in the city.(2)In the new urbanization,young people have high academic motivation,better achieve the learning task,the community feel good and in all kinds of life details more agree that they are urban people.(3)Long-term urban life,low-level urban mobility and local urbanization of Han male junior high school students' academic mentality is more positive,academic internal drive is stronger,more inclusive of the outside evaluation.(4)Local urbanization,long-term urban life of Han junior high school students in the community more feel close and supportive and comfortable;(5)Local urbanization,long-term urban life in the middle school female Han youth in the details of life the most think they are similar to the city people.(6)Community sense can significantly predict the level of academic goal orientation,urban identity plays an intermediary role in which to enhance the urban identity of young people to help enhance the in-school drive of young people at the same time weaken the external drive of academic performance.(7)To improve the level of social adaptation and academic motivation among young people from the perspective of social governance theoryrequires the joint efforts of policy makers,educators,parents and young people themselves.
