| Currently,the civil aviation industry of China is in a booming stage of rapid development.With the sharp increase in the demand for professional pilots,major domestic colleges are facing a series of challenges such as updating training materials and changing training methods.Therefore,learning from foreign advanced training experience and introducing textbooks are of great significance for promoting the development of domestic pilot training.This translation report is based on the translation of Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 of the book Principles of Flight for Pilots.This book serves as a general training material for the current student pilots in Europe,covering topics related to the principles of flight.As a specialized textbook,the original text has a clear logic and strong communicative characteristics,which is easy to translate,but it also features in abundant professional vocabulary,vast theoretical content and complex sentence structure,which gives the translator a big challenge.Based on the analysis of the above characteristics,the translator decided to use semantic translation and communicative translation as the theoretical framework of this translation practice,aiming to express the professionalism and popularization of the original text through the combination of these two translation methods.This translation report analyzes the translation process from the three perspectives of vocabulary,sentence structure and text,trying to explore how the translator should maximize the readability and versatility of the translation on the basis of ensuring the clearness and conciseness of the source text.Through this translation practice,the translator's knowledge reserve and translation skills have been improved,and thus laying a more solid foundation for her future translation.At the same time,the translator also hopes that the summary of this translation practice can provide some references and inspiration for other translators. |
