This is a translation report for The Camp Fire Girls at School which is a children literature written by Hildegard ˇGˇFrey. The book is a series of stories about seven girls in a summer camp.As it includes fascinating stories with vivid language and optimistic theme, the translation report adopts different translation strategies to get a better version under the guidance of Skopos theory. This report consists of five parts: brief introduction of translation task, description of translation process, overview of translation theory, case analysis and summary.Skopos theory is the core theory of German functionalist school, which was first proposed and developed by Hans Vermeer in 1970 s.Under the guidance of the theory, this report mainly analyzes difficulties in the translation from the perspectives of word selection and sentence structure.Meanwhile, adopted strategies are discussed when translated onomatopoeia,interjection,culture-loaded words and dialogues.Under the guidance of the three principles of Skopos theory, the translator solved those mentioned problems, improved the coherence and fidelity of the whole story, thus making the book more readable and acceptable.
