This report is based on the translation of Strategies to Minimize the Effects of Information Security Threats on Business Performance.It is mainly about the strategies that the five leaders use to minimize the effects of information security threats on business performance in small and medium-sized enterprises.The source text is a doctoral dissertation from Walden University with formal words and rigorous sentences.Newmark's Text Typology theory says the sentences with different language functions should adopt different translation strategies.Under its guidance,the problems that are encountered in the process of translation have been analyzed and discussed.They are mainly about lexical translation and syntactical translation.In lexical level,semantic translation strategy is used to translate the words,especially the technical terms.With literal translation,the meaning of the words can be showed accurately.In syntactical level,communicative translation strategy is preferred to express the content locally and succinctly with some translation skills such as: addition and conversion.Splitting and reorganizing the long and difficult sentences in the original text can make the sentences easy to be understood by the readers.Through this translation,with semantic translation strategy and communicative translation strategy,the translation thinking is more clear and smooth.Besides,the comprehension of Newmark's Text Typology theory has been enhanced,the confidence of translation has been increased,and the experience for future translation has been accumulated.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30...
