With the increasing frequency of international exchanges, many documents need to be translated into different languages for international exchange and research. The examples selected in this article are from an educational novel ‘Empowering Adolescent Girls in Developing Countries'.The readers of this article are education workers and guardians of a large number of young children,so the translation should be both research-oriented and easy to understand.Teenagers are the future and hope of the country, especially in developing countries, where economy is underdeveloped and education is unbalanced.Mental health education for adolescent children is directly related to the healthy growth of the next generation.Through the guidance of functional equivalence theory, this paper selects some words and sentences in the novel as the research object. This paper introduces the purpose, significance and research background of source text,as well as the use of different translation methods to compare and analyze the translated content under Nida's functional equivalence and Newmark's semantic translation and communicative translation.
