A Translation Project Report For The Minutes Of Boao Forum For Asia Annual Conference 2018(Excerpts)

With the development of economic globalization,China,which used to be the destination of the land and maritime silk roads,has begun to hold its pivotal place in the cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region because of its growing overall national strength.At the same time,to promote the economic collaboration and solve the sovereign and territorial disputes,members of international community spare no efforts to deliberate and perfect the related international agreements.Because of this,the translation of the English files relating to international conferences is becoming more and more significant.In this context,this report uses the minutes of Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018 as translation text to make an initial research on the features and skills of international conference minutes translation under the guidance of Text Function Theory of Peter Newmark and Functional Equivalence Theory of Eugene Nida.It tries to conclude the strategies and methods of translating international meeting minutes,and furthermore,make humble contributions to international exchange and cooperation.This report consists of five chapters.The first part is the brief introduction of this study.The second part tells the translation process.The third part introduces the related theories and the reason why the author used them as guideline.The fourth part is the analysis and cases studies,which is to link the theory and practice.The fifth chapter is the conclusion including my findings and reflections.
