Research On The Relationship Among College Students' Social Support,Career Self-efficacy And Career Adapting Responses

With the rapid development of modern science and technology,the acceleration of economic globalization and the continuous increase in the number of college graduates,the current career environment has become more complex and uncertain,and the pressure of college students' employment competition is increasingly intensified.How to enhance the employability of college students and improve the employment rate of college graduates has gradually attracted attention from all sectors of society.This study will explore the influence of college students' Social Support and Career Self-efficacy on Career Adapting Responses and its mechanism of action.First of all,complying with the scientific process of compiling scales,College Students' Career Adapting Responses Scale was developed;Secondly,the present situation and characteristics of college students' career adapting responses were investigated by the self-made College Students' Career Adapting Responses Scale.Finally,with other two scales:Social Support Scale and Career Self-efficacy Scale,the relationship among social support,career self-efficacy and career adapting responses of college students was analyzed.The mainly contributions of this paper are as follows:(1)The self-made College Students' Career Adapting Responses Scale contains 19 items that cover four dimensions: self-exploration,environment exploration,career decision-making,and enhancing competitiveness.The scale is applicable for further research as a psychological measurement tool with good reliability and validity.(2)The analysis of the current situation of college students' career adapting responses and demographic characteristics shows: The global level of college students' career adapting responses is higher than medium and enhancing competitiveness is the highest among all of the four dimensions;The global level of college students' career adapting responses varies significantly with such variables as gender,grade,major,only-child and cadre,but it has no significant statistically differences in whether two-parent families were involved;The global level of college students' career adapting responses has no significant statistically differences in different origions,but self-exploration varies significantly with the variable;The global level of college students' career adapting responses has no significant statistically differences in different family upbringing style,but environment exploration varies significantly with the variable.(3)There exists a significant correlation among social support,career self-efficacy and career adapting responses.It reveals that the college students' social support significantly predicts career self-efficacy and career adapting responses,besides,career self-efficacy significantly predicts career adapting responses,and career self-efficacy plays a partial intermediary role in the influence of social support on career adapting responses.
