A Study On Truth Theory In Jin Yuelin’s Epistemology

Jin yuelin is a famous logician and philosopher in China.The Epistemology is one of his works.In this book,he systematically discusses truth,which is the core concept of his Epistemology.Jin yuelin’s truth theory has a profound theoretical source.On the one hand,he was influenced by the correspondence theory of truth.On the basis of criticizing the correspondence theory of truth,he redeveloped the correspondence theory of truth.On the other hand,influenced by the distinction between logical truth and factual truth,he discusses truth from the perspective of factual truth.In addition,the two preconditions of "starting with common sense" and "non-subjective way of starting" provide the theoretical premise for its truth-seeking.Jin yuelin mainly expounded truth theory of his Epistemology from four aspects.The so-called about truth thought in Epistemology refers to Jin yuelin’s truth theory in Epistemology.On the basis of distinguishing truth,Jin yuelin pointed out that truth in his Epistemology was objective,independent and universal.Based on the characteristics of truth,Jin yuelin defined truth as the correspondence between proposition and fact.In order to test whether propositions and facts are consistent,Jin yuelin put forward the truth standard,that is,harmony,effectiveness and consistency.At the same time,Jin yuelin believes that induction is the only way to obtain true propositions,and only "the principle of induction is always true" can guarantee the objectivity of true propositions,and he proves "the principle of induction is always true" from three aspects.Jin yuelin’s truth theory in Epistemology has great significance on the development of logic and philosophy.Jin yuelin answered the historical problem of the correspondence theory of truth and developed the correspondence theory of truth on the basis of critical inheritance.Jin yuelin put forward "the principle of induction is always true",and demonstrated "the principle of induction is always true" strictly and systematically,which provided a new way to solve the problem of induction.Jin yuelin’s discussion on truth has promoted the development of Chinese philosophy in a certain sense.However,Jin’s truth theory also has some limitations.
