Research On The Application Of Haptic In Graphic Design

When human-computer interaction penetrates into all aspects of human life,with the advent of touch-screen era,the communication media of graphic design has begun to change from a variety of traditional media to a single digital media,resulting in the weakening of other senses except for the visual,and the first of which is the lack of haptics.Therefore,in the graphic design,the expression of the haptic is of great significance.In this paper,through the integration of the synesthesia of visual and haptic in Philosophy,Literature,Neuroscience,Cognitive Psychology and other multi-disciplinary fields,this paper analyzes the generation principles and operation mechanisms of the synesthesia of the visual and the haptic from various levels.Through systematic application research,it is found that touch plays four roles in graphic design,namely Augmented Reality,Auxiliary Description,Visual Implication and Emotional Expression,while there are some problems in the former practical application,such as the single technique and the superficial effect of expression.Thus,from the perspective of Gestalt psychology and other disciplines,this paper attempts to expand the existing methods of expression,and believes that in graphic design,in addition to the direct methods of expression for the purpose of simulation,the performance of touch can also be achieved by indirect methods of expression for the purpose of psychological suggestion.Finally,through the design project of children's safety education book "Non-contact" and a variety of haptic graphic expression experiments,this paper further validates and discusses the opinions and conclusions in the article,summarizes the general idea of tactile graphic expression,and looks forward to the application prospect of haptic in the field of visual design mainly based on graphic design.
