The English-Chinese Translation Of Translation:The Basis(Chapter1-3) And A Report On The Translation

This thesis consists three parts: Source text,target text and translation report.The source text is selected from Translation: the Basis,which is written by German linguist Julian House.It is excerpted from the first part of Translation: the Basis(chapters 1-3),which contains 13,000 words.There has been no Chinese translated version so far.It makes a comprehensive and profound exposition of various translation problems.The source text also makes a detail discussion on different translation schools and their translation theories as well as translation opinions.Furthermore,it introduces some advanced translation thoughts and translation methods.The source text is of great significance for introducing advanced translation theory and translation methods.Furthermore,it is essential for the present translation filed.The translation report introduces the translation background,the translation motivation and the significance of this translation practice.Though analyzing the type,writing style and language character of source text,the translator adopts Vermeer's skopos theory.The translator explains how she undertakes this translation practice under the guidance of skopos theory by listing some case analysis,including the translation of proper nouns,part-of-speech conversion,the translation of involved sentences and passive sentences.At last,the translator summarizes the reflection of this translation practice.
