This is a translation report about sign language interpreting text, and the translation material is The Sign Language Interpreting Studies Reader — a collection of papers devoted to the development history and research status of foreign sign language interpreting, published in 2015.At present, the study of sign language interpreting abroad enjoys a history of more than 50 years, and its content has been gradually expanded, deepened and improved, which has reached a high level of theory and practice.By comparison, the development of sign language interpreting research in China is relatively slow. This is mainly reflected in two aspects: first, there are few colleges offering courses related to sign language interpreting;second, there is a shortage of professional sign language interpreters in the fields of culture, social security, sports, business and social services. Therefore, the translation of such text has certain practical significance.Firstly, the author chooses Reiss' s(2004)text type theory as the guiding theory and determines that it belongs to informative text according to the textual function of the source text.Reiss has pointed out that the language of informative text is logical, with the emphasis on content rather than form;in the process of translation, the translator should use plain and clear words to convey the content of the source text. Then, the translator analyzes the translation under the perspective of accuracy and logicality, combining the translation techniques of conversion, addition, annotation, division and explicitation. As there are many terms in the text, the translator uses annotation to ensure the accuracy of the translation. As for long sentences and complex sentence structure, the translator adopts the translation techniques of conversion, addition and division.Besides, the source text is of rigorous logic,so the translator reproduces the logical relation in the target text through explicitation.Practice has proved that Reiss' s view on translation of informative texts not only provides a clear standard for the implementation of the translation process, but also plays a good role in the selection of translation techniques and the revision of translation.
