As an important part of education, basic education is the most basic link in the education system. Its important role is naturally self-evident.Women 's basic education has played an extremely important role in the development of women themselves and the economic development of the region. However,in the early stages of basic education development, the right to education is often limited to men,and women are often excluded from the education system. In Uganda,a developing country in eastern Africa, due to the relatively backward economic development level, the influence of traditional cultural practices is deeply entrenched, and women 's deprivation of their right to education is more common. At the beginning of Uganda's independence, this phenomenon has not been greatly improved due to the turbulent national political situation and the economic downturn. It was not until President Museveni took office in 1986 that gender equality gradually became an important issue for the government. With the joint efforts of the "National Resistance Movement" led by it,the international community and other non-governmental organizations,Uganda 's women 's basic education began to get on track and achieved a series of achievements. At the same time,it also faced some problems and challenges. The development of education has a long way to go.This dissertation collects a large number of detailed charts and materials, and comprehensively uses historical research methods such as literature and comparative methods to systematically study the development of women's basic education since Uganda's independence. From the aspects of early development, political economy and feminist movement,it analyzes the development background of Uganda women's basic education, describes the development performance of women's basic education in different periods and further explores the reasons for promoting the development of women's basic education. On this basis,it also pointed out the difficulties and challenges faced by Uganda women's basic education in the development process, and strived to have a more comprehensive discussion on the development of women's basic education since Uganda's independence. This dissertation is divided into five parts:The introduction part mainly introduces the topic selection and research significance of the thesis, the definition of related concepts and the research status at home and abroad. The first chapter mainly discusses the development background of Uganda women's basic education after independence, including the early development of women's basic education, the socio-political and economic situation after independence and the rise of Uganda's feminist movement. Before independence, women 's basic education institutions were mainly church schools, including British church schools,Catholic schools and Muslim schools. The second chapter mainly introduces the development achievements of women's basic education after independence, which is divided into two periods of early independence and after Museveni's administration. At the beginning of independence, the development of women's basic education was slow. After Museveni came into power, with the favorable support of the new government, women 's school enrollment rate has increased, educational opportunities have increased, the learning environment has improved, illiteracy rates have been reduced, and school barriers have been reduced. The development of women 's basic education has achieved certain results. The third chapter mainly focuses on the reasons for promoting the development of women's basic education. The relatively stable political environment and the steady development of the national economy are the prerequisite environments for ensuring the development of women 's basic education. At the same time, the development of basic education for women in Uganda is inseparable from the policy support of the Museveni Government and the joint efforts of the international community and other non-governmental organizations.Chapter 4 summarizes the full text, mainly elaborating some of the difficulties and challenges faced by Uganda's women's basic education while achieving achievements. From two aspects: the imbalance of development and the influence of traditional culture,it is pointed out that Uganda still has the problem of gender inequality in the field of basic education, and the realization of educational equity still needs further efforts.
