This practice report is based on two interpreting practices of the author as a liaison interpreter. In this report, the author discusses some interpreting methods under the guidance of subjectivity consciousness theory. In the process of interpreting,a liaison interpreter is not only a “language converter”.He or she should exert his or her subjectivity by displaying visibility consciousness, playing empowerment role and taking a non-neutral position. In the first interpreting practice, various failures caused by insufficient subjectivity consciousness were found.Based on the analysis of selected examples, the author found that these failures affected communicative effects and the achievement of communicative goals. In order to solve these problems, the author proposed interpreting methods under the guidance of subjectivity consciousness theory,namely,imitation,re-creation and variation translation. In her second interpreting practice, the author adopted these interpreting methods, and found that the interpreting quality and communicative effects improved.Based on self-evaluation and the feedback gathered from the client and the organizer, the author analyzed and verified the interpreting methods adopted, showing that interpreting methods adopted under the guidance of subjectivity consciousness could play a positive role in improving communicative effects and interpreters' performance in liaison interpreting.
