Research On Samaroff's Piano Teaching Idea And Its Influence

Olga samaroff(1880.8.8-1948.5.17)is an important American pianist and educator at the turn of the 19 th century and the 20 th century,and a professor at Juilliard School and Philadelphia Conservatory.Her piano teaching concept promoted the status of American Piano Art in the world to a great extent,and her piano performance level was highly praised at that time.After graduating from her class,many of her students also became famous pianists and Piano educators.However,due to various reasons,the piano practitioners in China know little about the forerunner of American piano education,or even have never heard of him,which is really a pity.Based on the life of samara,this paper makes a comprehensive introduction and analysis of samarov's teaching philosophy and its influence.Finally,it is concluded that samara is a great piano educator who should not be forgotten.I hope that through this paper,the researchers that are engaged in the field of piano teaching can further to understand samara and realize his great contribution to piano teaching.
