This practice report is based on the author's interpreting for a lecture on Events Emergency Evacuation.Entrusted by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of Shenyang Normal University, the author came to the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management for this interpreting practice which lasted for 100 minutes. The lecture focuses on the definition, characteristics, relevant examples and countermeasures of many factors in the events emergency evacuation. The content of the Speaker's lecture contains a great deal of professional information, which adds a certain degree of difficulty to the interpreting practice. In the process of interpreting, the author encounters three problems: long sentences with professional information, rare expression and condensed information. These problems lead to a large number of misinterpreting and omissions in the process of interpreting.Meanwhile, the interpretive theory, which is based on the trigonometric model of “Understanding one by one separates from the shell of the original language and expressing one by one” and “the main purpose of interpreting is to translate meaning”,provides a feasible solution to the above problems. The author adopts three interpreting strategies, namely, reformulation, semantic explanation and addition to convey the central idea of the two sides, and he finally effectively solves the problems in the interpreting practice.
