Nowadays,the learning of Chinese as a second language has been spread all over the world,and the compilation and teaching research of Chinese textbooks have become the main content of the development of Chinese international education.The Meiji period was an important period for the publication of Chinese textbooks.The Qing-Yü Reader for 20 th Century is the object of study.From the perspective of Chinese as a foreign language,this paper makes a comprehensive exploration and research on the topics and vocabulary in the textbooks,and explores its value in the compilation of Chinese textbooks in combination with other compilation features in the textbooks,which is expected to give some enlightenment to the compilation of Chinese textbooks today.This paper is mainly divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction.This paper expounds the significance and origin of the topic,and makes a brief introduction to the situation of Chinese teaching in Japan and the background of the book.In addition,from the perspective of Meiji Chinese textbook sorting and teaching introduction,vocabulary teaching,topic research,etc.The second part is the first chapter.Taking Liwenchwan,as the breakthrough point,this paper summarizes Liwenchwan,'s role playing and contribution in the late qing dynasty and the early republic of China,and points out his educational experience and achievements.In addition,combining with the prevailing teaching of Chinese as a foreign language at that time,this paper analyzes the compilation style and the nature of the textbook,and points out that the textbook serves the business and pays attention to the characteristics of life.The third part is the body part,mainly the second chapter and the third chapter.This part starts from the concrete research content,makes the data statistics to the topic and the vocabulary classification,and summarizes the topic and the vocabularycharacteristic in the teaching material.It is found that the topic of the textbook has the characteristics of time,popularity and timeliness,and at the same time,the choice of vocabulary tends to life.The fourth part is chapter four.Based on the research of topic and vocabulary in chapter 2 and chapter 3,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the selection and arrangement of topic and vocabulary in the future teaching materials.At the same time,it points out the defects and deficiencies in the teaching materials.The Qing-Yü Reader for 20 th Century was published at the end of the qing dynasty and the beginning of the republic of China.The textbook reflects the development and changes of The Times in word selection,and also reflects some contents and methods of teaching Chinese as a foreign language at that time,which has important reference value for today's Chinese teaching and textbook compilation.
