A Report On EC Translation Of Management Agreement And Operating Agreement

As a type of important legal documents for safeguarding the rights and interests of enterprises,agreements signed by entrepreneurs play an indispensable role in business deals.Therefore,it is very significant to translate well texts of enterprise agreements.Accurate,standard and professional translation of corporate agreements is conducive to highlighting the image of enterprises,protecting the rights and interests of companies and their employees,and promoting cooperation between multi-national corporations.This report first briefly introduces the translation project,overviews relevant literature and emphasizes the significance;also,based on the text type,the author proposes Functional Equivalence and Communicative Translation Strategy as her translation guideline.Next,the report describes the language features of the source texts and the translation process,including the pre-translation preparations,comprehension and reproduction and proofreading.Then,it proves or verifies the feasibility of following the principles of accuracy,conciseness,consistency and use of special terms for translation of the two English agreements,before it makes a case study of translation at the lexical,syntactic and textual levels in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of giving full play to the translator's subjectivity by flexibly applying such translation techniques as deconstruction,conversion and inversion.Finally,the author summarizes her major findings as well as shortcomings,and puts forward methods for improving the thesis.This report is intended to enlighten the translators of English agreements.It suggests that with the translation guideline close to their heart they should rationally apply the proved translation principles and translation techniques so as to improve the quality of their translation of such English texts.
