In the past ten years,as China's economy has taken off and enhancement of its comprehensive national strength,China's influence in the world has gradually increased.The "Chinese fever" has begun to appear around the world,but the increasing demand for Chinese learning is in contradiction with the low employment rate of master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages counterparts,MTCSOL for short.Since the establishment of the MTCSOL in 2007,although a large number of students who majored in master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages have been trained,the number of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language is still scarce.In view of the above contradiction,this article investigated the employment-related situation of graduates of master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages in Shanghai Normal University.The research content is mainly divided into four parts.The first part describes the background of the topic,purpose,significance,ideas and methods of the research.As well as the relevant researches on the cultivation and employment of master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages in China by the scholars in the literature review part.And the second part mainly contains the field study of training mode of the master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages Major of Shanghai Normal University which was conducted in detail from the aspects of professional curriculum setting,internship,employment guidance,etc.,and the comparison with the training mode of East China Normal University,which is also in the same area and of the same type.Analyzing theemployment data of Shanghai Normal University graduates in the past four years;the third part includes the design of a questionnaire,which is issued for the postgraduates of the master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages of Shanghai Normal University,and the specific analysis of the survey results;the fourth part firstly points out the various employment-related problems of the graduates of master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages found in this survey,then analyze the relevant factors that affect graduates' employment from the four levels of students,colleges,society and policy,and finally present relevant suggestions and countermeasures.The main research method of this article is the questionnaire survey method.According to the survey results,the serious imbalance between male and female in this major was currently existed;there are more candidates for undergraduate majors but lower counterpart employment rates,and the motivation and purpose of interdisciplinary candidates are not clear;inadequate competence;students have little understanding of the employment prospects of the major and lack of career planning;some colleges have unreasonable arrangements for the master's degree in this major;students are short of teaching experience,and the school curriculum is inadequate;lack of practical opportunities;Lack of employment guidance for the corresponding majors;students in this major have high professional interest,but low employment rates in the corresponding majors;graduates believe that the employment situation in this major is severe,which is seriously inconsistent with their employment conditions;the scope of employment in this major is narrow and employment Space is limited;the employment of this specialty lacks relevant policy support,immature industry development,etc.In order for the country to demonstrate cultural self-confidence and spread Chinese culture,more attention should be paid to international education of Chinese language,the employment of this profession should be valued,and the quality and quantity of international Chinese teachers should be acquired more concern.It's hoped that through the joint efforts of all parties,we can promote the employment rate of the master of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages,improve the shortage of overseas Chinese teachers,and enable more graduates who love teachingChinese as a foreign language to realize their self-worth and obtain employment smoothly and make contributions to the promotion of Chinese international and Chinese culture.
